We saw the power of prayer when Elijah prayed according to God’s will. Elijah knew the will of God so he knew how to pray. (The secret of Elijah’s prayer)
It is also important for us to know God's will in our time. We will study God's will for our lives, families, church, and world. When we pray according to God’s will He hears us.
1 John 5:14-15 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
We all can experience God's answers to prayers that are prayed according to His will. I made a list with prayers according to God’s will. Try to apply these prayers in your daily life and situation. God's word is eternal.
PRAY THAT GOD’S WILL BE DONE
Matt. 6:9-10 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
We must surrender ourselves completely to our Father in heaven when we pray. The first thing the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to pray for is for His kingdom to come and for His will to be done. The Lord Jesus Christ is our King and we should rule and have dominion together with Him.
When you pray this prayer you need to be ready to do His will on earth as it is in heaven. When we pray we have to pray with our whole hearts, with our whole being according to His will.
We can pray for God’s will to be done in our lives, families, churches, and nations. That was God’s will from the beginning that all things will be on earth as it is in heaven.
PRAY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS
Matt. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
You can pray to God to receive forgiveness of sins. God wants to forgive your sins! Allow the Holy Spirit to research your heart right now and to bring to the light what is not right. Then bring it to Jesus who died for our sins. Also, make things right with the people around you.
PRAY FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT
Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in your daily life. (Rom. 8:14)
Ask the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, to reveal God’s mysteries to you. (John 16:13)
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you things to come. (John 16:13)
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to pray according to God’s will. (Rom. 8:26-27)
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. (John 14:26)
PRAY FOR ALL PEOPLE, YOUR LEADERS AND GOVERNMENT
1Tim. 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
First of all, we should PRAY! Through prayer, we can rule and have dominion in this world. Pray for all people, the government, and the local authorities. Pray that God's light will shine upon them so that all sin will come to light and that they will come to repentance. Pray that they will come to the knowledge of the truth. Pray that the door will be opened to bring the gospel to your country or region. This is according to God's will and He will hear because it is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
PRAY FOR THE CHURCH
Matt. 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
The Lord Jesus says that He will build His church. We should pray that He will build the church and not us. If the Lord Jesus builds the church the devil cannot overpower it but we will overpower the gates of our enemies. Lord Jesus, please build Your church!
Gen. 22:17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
PRAY FOR REVIVAL IN THE CHURCH
Ps. 85:6 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?
Isa. 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
2Chron. 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
The Lord, the giver of life is ready to give revival to His church. But we must be in the right position with God. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, (1 Peter 5:6). God can restore and revive His church if we humble ourselves and acknowledge that we can do nothing without God. We must be aware that we need revival; we have to be thirsty for God. Those who are thirsty will be filled. Let's pray for revival!
PRAY FOR NEW BELIEVERS
Col. 1:9-12 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Pray that new believers may grow in the knowledge of the Lord and that they will understand that they can walk in His glorious power. Pray that God's word will accomplish for which He sends it. Pray that their eyes will be opened to see that the Father has qualified them to be partakers of the inheritance. (Read also: Eph. 1:15-19, Phil. 1:9-11, 2Thess. 1:3-4)
PRAY FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERS
2Chron. 1:10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?"
Pray for the leaders in the church. They are the ones who need the prayers the most. If Satan can deceive the leaders, then the whole church can fall. Pray that they will be filled with God's Spirit and wisdom to do the work of God. (Read also: Eph. 6:18-19)
PRAY FOR THE HARVEST
John 4:35 Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
Pray for harvest vision and harvest strategies so that we may recognize the opportunities God gives. May God open our spiritual eyes and may we recognize that the fields are ripe for Harvest.
PRAY FOR LABORERS IN GODS HARVEST
Matt. 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
Still, so many people need to be reached with the Good News, about three billion people know nothing about God's salvation plan. Pray that God will raise strong workers, prepared by God and called by God to preach the Gospel.
PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF INDIVIDUALS
1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation (G2434 atonement) for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
1Tim. 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
It is God's will that all people will get saved, He even gave His only Son to die for sinners. Jesus came to save sinners. We can pray for all people even for the worst sinner, all can come. Jesus Christ is the atonement for the whole world. For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Rom. 10:13)
PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMY
Matt. 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
The Lord Jesus asks us to pray for our enemies because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12). We have to pray that the souls of our enemies will be saved out of the hands of Satan. Pray that God will send His Holy Spirit to convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). That they will come in God's light, seeing their hopeless situation, and come to repentance.
PRAY FOR THE DEFEAT OF SATAN, THAT HIS WORKS WILL BE BROKEN
Matt. 6:13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
The Lord Jesus Christ teaches us to pray that we should be delivered from the evil one. The purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ is to destroy the works of the devil, the prince of this world. Hold on in prayer in our fight against the forces of darkness who only want to kill, steal, and destroy. In Christ, we have the victory!!!
PRAY FOR THE SICK
James 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
It is God’s will that we are healthy like parents who want their children to be healthy. Health is a blessing from God that we can ask for. Pray in faith that people may get healed to the glory of God. Remember, we have spiritual gifts: John 14:10-14, Mk. 16:15-20, 1Cor. 12:7-11
PRAY FOR MATERIAL BENEFITS
Matt. 6: 11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Matt. 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Rom. 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
We have a Father who takes care of us. (1Pet. 5:7) We can pray for our daily needs and the resources we need to advance the Kingdom of God. God’s promises are clear, take them in faith.
CONCLUSION
1John 3: 21-22 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
Let us pray according to God’s will, let us be co-workers with God in the Kingdom of God. We have to take our prayer task very seriously, prayer changes things. We can make it a good habit to pray these prayers daily with rejoicing because God promised to hear us. We already can thank God for what He is going to do.
